Fall begins Monday with the autumnal equinox, and visions of holiday happenings already are dancing in our heads! The Epcot® International Festival of the Holidays presented by AdventHealth is gearing up for a glittering music-and-entertainment-filled, treat-forward kickoff Nov. 29, 2019. The annual event, enhanced park-wide with sparkling holiday lights and festive decor, will continue through Dec. 30, 2019.

A few months ago, we announced quite a few celebrity narrators for this year’s beloved “Candlelight Processional,” and now we have two more vibrant stars slated to appear. Film and television actress, director and wildlife conservationist Isabella Rossellini will be the Candlelight storyteller Dec. 8-10; and actress, author, activist and Oscar winner Marlee Matlin will appear Dec. 27-28. They join a stellar cast of narrators that kicks off with Ming-Na Wen, actress and voice of Disney animated heroine Mulan, Nov. 29-Dec. 1. Performed at the America Gardens Theatre, the “Candlelight Processional” is a heartwarming and rousing show featuring a live orchestra, massed choir and celebrity telling of the traditional Christmas story.

From day one of the festival, 13 Holiday Kitchens plus additional food-and-beverage locations (more than 25 in all) across Epcot will serve a delectable array of bites, sips and creative treats.  The holiday tasting journey begins with Slow-Roasted Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Green Beans and Cranberry Sauce at the American Holiday Table. Between the Morocco and France pavilions, Guests will find the new Smoked Salmon Potato Latkes at the L’Chaim! Holiday Kitchen (where the Pastrami on Rye with House-made Pickles and Deli Mustard is a returning favorite). There are new bites to discover including Canadian Wild Rice and Ham Soup with Pretzel Roll at the Yukon Holiday Kitchen, which also brings back its popular Seared Verlasso Salmon with Crown Maple Whisky Glaze, Parsnip Silk, Apple Chutney and Hazelnut Croquant.

The Holiday Cookie Stroll is rewarding fun for the family and gives everyone a chance to explore the festival with baked goodies offered at several Holiday Kitchens. Guests can choose any five cookies featured in your Festival Passport, collect matching stamps and receive a complimentary Santa Mickey Sugar Cookie at the Holiday Sweets & Treats location:
  • Bavaria Holiday Kitchen: Linzer Cookie

Fun Facts About Sleeping Beauty Castle /Snow White’s Castle

The castle was opened July 17, 1955; the castle is the oldest of all Disney castles.  The inspiration behind this castle was the Neuschwanstein Castle located in Germany.  The Disney family coat of arms hangs above the archway to the castle.  It is composed of three lions passant in pale

On April 29, 1957, visitors were able to walk through the castle and view entire story of Sleeping Beauty.  As you walked through the castle you would hear the song When You Wish Upon a Star.  These were redone again in 1977 to resemble the windows on Main Street USA.  Then in October 2001 the walkthrough was closed for unspecified reasons, but some believe it was because the September 11th attacks and the potential danger if they left it open.

The walkway reopened in November 2008 that featured new technology.  Visitors who are unable to climb stairs or navigate the passageways of the Castle can still experience the walkthrough "virtually" in a special room on the Castle's ground floor. This room is lavishly themed, and presents the closed-captioned walkthrough recreation on a high-definition TV.

Did you know the original geographical center of the Magic Kingdom was in the middle of the round park, where the "Partners" statue of Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse stands. The addition of Toontown moved the actual center of the park a few yards northward, but still on the hub side of the castle drawbridge.  Sleeping Beauty Castle is also used as a Logo for Disney.

Why Disney World Veterans Should Use A Disney Travel Agent

Why Disney World Veterans Should Use A Disney Travel Age

Do you fall in the ranks of frequent Walt Disney World travelers who like to plan their own trips? Do you have a countdown to your arrival date, religiously wake up at 6AM EST to make your ADRs, and scope out the crowd calendars to plan your days in the parks? Me too, and you are not alone. Many of us are born and bred planners. But did you know there are benefits to using a Disney travel agent~even if you like to do all the fun planning? As a frequent Disney traveler, I never knew the value of a travel agent until I turned my trip over to one. It was such a fantastic experience! And today I want to share with you those benefits.

Benefit #1: Disney travel agents love Disney travel as much as you do! I have to say, frequent Disney travelers are fantastic to work with! We speak the same language. I love having conversations with clients who aren’t just clients~we share the same love for Disney and making memories with our families at the most magical place on earth!

Benefit #2: Disney travel agents work closely with Disney cast members to assure you are getting the best vacation experience possible. I work for an agency that has agents in the parks almost every day. Disney travel agents are on the phone the second a discount is released to save you time and money on your vacation. Who wants to sit on hold with Disney for hours~literally, hours~to save some money? Your Disney travel agent does. Why? Because it’s our job, and our goal is to give you the best customer service possible.

Benefit #3: YOU can do all the fun planning! Disney travel agents work for you. We are here to help as much as possible, but we don’t want to take the fun out of vacation for you. You can happily plan your ADRs, make your FastPass Plus selections, and even whip up some amazing Touring Plans. When you use a travel agent, you don’t lose any control over your planning. It’s YOUR vacation!

Benefit #4: You have access to up to the minute news, happenings, and all the magic. When new park hours are released for your dates, you can rest assured that will show up in your inbox. Trying to plan your dining? Then watch your inbox or your agent’s Facebook page for the newest dining experience coming to the parks. You may not have time to sit on Facebook or your email all day watching for the latest news~but we are happy to fill you in!

Benefit #5: You are supporting a small business. Disney pays us, so if you don’t use a travel agent, essentially you are paying for something you aren’t getting. You aren’t getting personalized service, you aren’t getting fun goodies in the mail, you don’t have someone to give you that one on one attention you may need to get your questions answered so you can get to planning! Best of all, that is all at no cost to you.
