New EARidescent Southwest Airlines Aircraft Celebrates 50-Year Anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort

September 28, 2021

We have some exciting – you might say lofty – news to share. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” honoring the past, present and future of Walt Disney World Resort on its 50thanniversary, is taking to the skies!

This afternoon, before media and special guests in Houston, Southwest Airlines unveiled a very special 737-700 — dramatically pixie-dusted, nose to tail, in colorful graphics commemorating the 50th anniversary celebration of Walt Disney World Resort. Fanciful Disney accents also brighten the cabin space – down to the pulldown shades. Awesome, isn’t it?

Today’s surprise reveal at Hobby Airport filled the hangar with the joyful sounds of music and included Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in the EARidescent fashions they’ll wear throughout the 18-month celebration in Florida, beginning Oct. 1. Southwest also celebrates 50 years of flying in 2021, so this special aircraft is a double scoop of festive for two great brands.

To underscore the collaboration, the decorated plane flew its maiden flight to Orlando International Airport, where the arrival experience has been transformed with fantastical Walt Disney World Resort 50th anniversary celebration décor.

So now “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” extends to the land AND the sky.  Let the celebration begin, and congrats to Southwest Airlines for 50 years.

Virtual Queue for Remy's Ratatouille Adventure begins October 1st

Virtual Queue for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure Begins Oct. 1

By: Disney Destinations

September 23, 2021

When we say “bonjour!” to Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure on Oct. 1, in order to experience the attraction, Guests will be required to join the virtual queue. Here’s how our Guests will use the virtual queue to experience Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure:

• Guests with a valid ticket or pass and theme park reservation who will start their day at EPCOT can access the virtual queue system via the My Disney Experience app and check for an available boarding group starting at 7 a.m. on the day of their park reservation. This can be done before Guests arrive at the theme park.
• If Guests are unable to join the morning virtual queue opportunity, they may check for an available boarding group starting at 1 p.m. after they have entered the park. Keep in mind, Guests must be at EPCOT to access this second virtual queue opportunity, and access to a boarding group is subject to availability and not guaranteed.

Tips for getting into the virtual queue

By the day prior to their visit, Guests should make sure to have done the following:

• Have an account in My Disney Experience
• Download the My Disney Experience mobile app on their smart device or ensure they have the most updated version of the app before arriving at the park
• Link their tickets to their My Disney Experience account
• Have a valid Disney Park Pass reservation for EPCOT for the day

Virtual queue is only accessible via the My Disney Experience mobile app.

Please keep in mind, only one Guest per traveling party should attempt to enroll in virtual queue. Multiple Guests and devices attempting to enroll the same party could complicate securing a boarding group. As a reminder, in order to be eligible for the 1 p.m. virtual queue enrollment, all Guests in a party must already be inside EPCOT.

Guests who need additional help joining the virtual queue for the 1 p.m. enrollment time should seek out a Guest Relations or Guest Experience Team Cast Member at EPCOT.

Celebrate the Holiday Season in a Merry New Way at Disneyland Park

Celebrate the Holiday Season in a Merry New Way with Disney Merriest Nites, an All-new After-hours Event at Disneyland Park

By: Disney Destinations

September 10, 2021

Are you looking forward to immersing yourself in the Holiday season this year? Look no further because magic is here with Holidays at the Disneyland Resort! And this year we’ve added a new separate ticket, limited-capacity offering, Disney Merriest Nites. Since Mickey Mouse adores the holidays and celebrating with friends, he’s invited some of them to help host six themed parties in one throughout Disneyland park. Join Mickey Mouse and his friends on one of five select nights during November and December with the purchase of a ticket!

As the host of the party, Mickey Mouse will welcome Guests to Disney Merriest Nites with Victorian flair on Main Street, U.S.A. Over in New Orleans Square, Princess Tiana plans to ring in Noel with Guests at her bayou-inspired celebration. In Frontierland, Miguel from the Disney•Pixar film “Coco” will be wishing everyone Feliz Navidad while Guests kick up their heels during a jolly dance-filled fiesta. Three more character-hosted holiday parties await with a tropical party hosted by Lilo & Stitch in Adventureland, a wintertime celebration with Elsa in Fantasyland, and Buzz Lightyear taking the holidays to new heights over in Tomorrowland. Guests will enjoy enhanced entertainment such as themed photo backdrops and character sightings, and themed specialty food and beverage offerings within the event.

Attendance at this separately ticketed holiday event offers Guests limited-capacity, after-hours access to Disneyland park attractions* and entertainment. Select attractions will be available, including the seasonal transformations “it’s a small world” Holiday and Haunted Mansion Holiday, along with a special viewing of “A Christmas Fantasy” Parade.**

With unlimited Disney Photopass*** digital downloads from the night, Guests may want to wear their favorite holiday attire!

Disney Merriest Nites tickets will be sold for events on Nov. 11, Nov. 16, Nov. 30, Dec. 7, and Dec. 9. For event highlights and additional details, please visit disneyland.com/merriestnites. Tickets will be available for purchase on September 14, no earlier than 9 am PT, on Disneyland.com and the Disneyland app.

We look forward to celebrating the Holidays and Disney Merriest Nites with our Guests soon at the Disneyland Resort!

* Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Mickey’s Toontown and Critter Country will not be accessible during the party.

** Entertainment, experiences, attractions, and offerings may be modified, limited in availability, or unavailable, and are subject to restrictions, and change or cancellation without notice.
